Today’s law enforcement personnel have a variety of scenarios and situations in which they could face at any time. More often than not law enforcement officers must engage a suspect in varying levels of hands-on encounters. During these hands-on experiences, most are either stand up grappling altercations or ground altercations (sometimes with an assailant armed with a knife or stick).Experienced Officers have also stated that while struggling with suspects, the suspects have attempted to remove the officers weapons.
The objective of HOSS is to provide realistic, effective, easy-to-remember tactics and techniques for use in subduing or defending against a suspect. This course is flexible for varying schedules. Normally scheduled through the training officer of a law enforcement agency, it can also be scheduled by law enforcement groups of six or more who chose to train outside of duty time.
